A type of material extrusion (MEX) additive manufacturing where a continuous strand of metal wire material is fed into a heated extruder, and molten metal is deposited on a pre-heated build layer. A plasma jet is used to pre-heat the build surface only where the molten metal is being deposited, fussing the new material with the existing material.
